Reel FX / Brazen Animation
• Lighting
• Compositing
At Reel FX I worked as a Lighter & Compositor on the movies, “Rock Dog” and “Sherlock Gnomes”. My job was to match the look of assigned shots to the sequence keyshot while reporting to my lead on progress. Shots were given notes by the Director during daily reviews that I was responsible to hit. We used Maya and Arnold for rendering, and Nuke for compositing.
Working at a large-scale production studio within a feature film animation pipeline was an eye-opening experience. It made me aware of the incredible amount of coordination and talent involved in producing an animated feature film.
Brazen was smaller than Reel FX and just as mighty. I worked there as a Lighter & Compositor (lookdev) but this time as a Lead tasked to match shots to a painting. This was for the animated League of Legends trailer “Maximum Damage” released on YouTube. We used Maya, Arnold, and Nuke here as well.
